As one of television’s most recognized and trusted journalists, Joan Lunden has devoted much of her career to educating Americans about health and wellness through her books, speeches, and national media campaigns and will now be the host of the sixth season of Heath Corner.  Health Corner, a weekly series sponsored by Walgreens, focuses on health issues important to women. Recent interviewees include Sally Field about osteoporosis and bone health, Jamie Lee Curtis on digestive health, “You Doc” Dr. Michael Roizen on weight loss, and ABC anchor Bob Woodruff and wife Lee on overcoming traumatic brain injury. Weekly features include “What’s Cookin’ with ChefMD®?”, a popular cooking segment about culinary medicine, which illustrates how food can work like medicine in your body.  Health Corner also includes real people’s touching stories, medical breakthroughs from coast to coast, “Kids’ Corner”, about your child’s mind, body and spirit, and “That Certain Something”, focusing on health, style and beauty.  A total of 26 episodes per season are being produced by Marx Creative in Milwaukee.  “It’s a great honor to be part of a Health Corner, a show that has been focusing on health issues that are important to me, as well as women at any stage of their lives,” said Lunden. “My goal is to bring even more focus and attention to health concerns women share, whether they’re in college, young Moms, sandwich generation or aging adults.”  “Joan is one of the most respected women in America, and we are thrilled she will be hosting Health Corner,” said Craig Sinclair, Walgreen vice president of advertising. “Her experience as a journalist, mom and healthcare advocate will elevate Health Corner, and provide viewers with resources, information and inspiration they won’t find anywhere else.”  Health Corner, “America’s Healthiest TV Show™”, airs Sunday mornings, 9:30 Eastern and Pacific time, 8:30 Central and 10:30 Mountain time on Lifetime Television.
